Endodontics focuses on the treatment of dental pulp and root diseases. This discipline is fundamental to preserving teeth damaged by deep cavities, infection or injury and uses procedures aimed at eliminating inflammation and preserving tooth structure.
Endodontics prevents tooth extraction
The need for endodontic surgery arises when the dental pulp, the soft tissue inside the tooth, is damaged. This can occur due to deep caries, trauma or other injuries. Endodontics therefore becomes essential to avoid extraction of the tooth, preserving its function and preventing the spread of infection.
Procedures and techniques used in endodontics
Endodontics involves procedures such as cleaning and disinfection of the root canal system, followed by its obturation to prevent reoccurrence of infection. In many cases, root canal therapy is also performed, which consists of removing inflamed or infected pulp. In our practice, we use advanced techniques and specialised instruments that allow us to perform procedures with precision, while minimising discomfort for the patient.
A customised approach, including postoperative care
From analysing the roots to choosing the most appropriate techniques, we focus on preserving the tooth, ensuring it will last for years to come. We also follow every patient in the postoperative phase, monitoring the healing process and advising on how to maintain the long-term health of the tooth in question.
